COLLEGEVILLE HOUSE-OF-PAIN

The collegeville house-of-pain are a charter member of the ESFFL. Owned by ESFFL Vice-Commissioner, Ted Sidoriak, the team originated in Ted’s hometown of Tamaqua, Pennsylvania. Known as “the land of the running water,” Tamaqua is famous for it’s rich deposits of anthracite coal, as well as the footwear that locals like to wear to kick the excrement out of each other. Thus, initially at least, Ted chose the nickname “shitkickers” for his team, and kept that name through moves to Trooper, PA, in 1997, and Collegeville, PA, in year 2000. As his young daughter grew from toddler to impressionable adolescent, Ted decided to change his team name to the more politically correct, “house-of-pain” nickname in 2001. That name has stuck through present day, despite further moves to Phoenixville and now Tafton, Pennsylvania. Through the 2023 season, the house-of-pain have won 276 total games, good for first place on the All-Time Wins List. After reaching back-to-back title game in 1997 and 1998, only to lose to the emus each time, the house-of-pain finally broke through in 2004 with their first Johnson Cup Championship. They followed up that big victory with a second title in 2008. After a 15-year wait, the house-of-pain returned to the Fantasy Bowl again in 2023, and became just the second team in ESFFL history to win a third Johnson Cup. In addition to those 3 championships, the house-of-pain have won 14 total division titles through 2023, the third most among. They will surely be looking to raise that number to 15 and become the first team to win a fourth championship when they re-take the virtual field in 2024.
