COLLEGEVILLE HOUSE-OF-PAIN

The collegeville house-of-pain are a charter member of the ESFFL. Owned by ESFFL Vice-Commissioner, Ted Sidoriak, the team originated in Ted’s hometown of Tamaqua, Pennsylvania. Known as “the land of the running water,” Tamaqua is famous for it’s rich deposits of anthracite coal, as well as the footwear that locals like to wear to kick the excrement out of each other. Thus, initially at least, Ted chose the nickname “shitkickers” for his team, and kept that name through moves to Trooper, PA, in 1997, and Collegeville, PA, in year 2000. As his young daughter grew from toddler to impressionable adolescent, Ted decided to change his team name to the more politically correct, “house-of-pain” nickname in 2001. Through the 2022 season, the house-of-pain have won 263 total games, good for first place on the All-Time Wins List. After reaching back-to-back title game in 1997 and 1998, only to lose to the emus each time, the house-of-pain finally broke through in 2004 with their first Johnson Cup Championship. They followed up that big victory with a second title in 2008. Despite not reaching the championship game since then, the house-of-pain remain one of the most successful ESFFL franchises having won 10 division titles over the past 17 years. With 14 total division titles through 2022, the house-of-pain are tied with the bayfoxes and emus for the most in ESFFL history. They will surely be looking to raise that number to 15 and find their way to another championship in 2023.
